Festival Encuentro Latino 2007
The new Latin American Arts and Cultural Festival in London

1st July - 2nd September 2007

London is preparing  to host the second edition of this new two-month long Latin American Festival that encompasses the wide range of culture and arts the region is famous for – ranging from music and dance to food and drinks, film, story telling, art and photography – with many events and activities free of charge.

Latin American culture consists of more than just dancing and football.  The UK has one of the largest Latin American communities in Europe, concentrated mostly in London, with large and small representations of the 20 countries that make up this continent. Through the celebration of Latin American culture and the arts, Festival Encuentro Latino 2007  aims to bring together Latin Americans from all walks of life and the British public at large, showing Londoners the vast range of exciting Latin American activities they can participate in right here in our own city.

Last year the Festival centred around the Wandsworth area, this year Festival Encuentro Latino 2007 will expand to cover more areas including Wandsworth, Lambeth, Southwark and Camden and include  events jointly organised with the Balham and Tooting Carnival and  participation from other Latin American organisations in London. Festival Encuentro Latino 2007 will host a vast range of events and activities in theatres, cinemas, art galleries, arts centres, music and dance venues, plus open air activities in the streets of Balham and Carnival days on Tooting Bec Common.
